I wasn’t sure how to begin this post and if it would even be very important to many readers. But I decided to just go ahead and do my thing.
While sodas, coffees, teas and other beverages are great, you cannot live without plain water. Whether it is in sparkly form or still. You need it. Why you ask? Well for one, water has natural elements in it that your body needs. Secondly, drinking sugar from things such as colas and alcohol is bad for your teeth AND makes you even thirstier than before you drank it.
“Soft drinks have emerged as one of the most significant dietary sources of tooth decay, affecting people of all ages. Acids and acidic sugar by-products in soft drinks soften tooth enamel, contributing to the formation of cavities. In extreme cases, softer enamel combined with improper brushing, grinding of the teeth or other conditions can lead to tooth loss.
Sugar-free drinks, which account for only 14 percent of all soft drink consumption, are less harmful1. However, they are acidic and potentially can still cause problems.” - Colgate
“Water adjusts the body's temperature and assists in digestion. It removes toxins from the body and also makes necessary body fluids. The chemical reactions that support life take place in a water medium, with water being an important reactant or product of these reactions.
It can be said that the chemistry of life is water chemistry. For the body to function properly, it must be hydrated properly. Moreover, the qualities and properties of the water we drink can determine the quality of our health.
How much water do you drink everyday?
Not coffee, tea or soda - we are talking about water in the purest form. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, and even alcoholic beverages do contain water, but they also contain chemicals and additives harmful to your body. These are not substitutes for water and they do not hydrate and cleanse your body like pure water.
• The adult human body is made up of 60-75% water.
• The brain is made up of about 85% water.
• Blood, which carries nutrients and oxygen throughout the body, is about 90% water.
You see, water carries life energy - water is your lifeline!” - pH Water for Health
As you can see, water is good. And water is the source of good skin. So start drinking more water! At least one or two litres a day.
